Goal:

Objectives

To ensure efficient mechanisms for sound environment management

Strategies

  • Lobby for increased funding from development partners and donors so as to supplement the district effort to fund unfunded priorities
  • Lobby for a departmental vehicle so as to improve timely implementation, monitoring and inspection of activities
  • Sensitize and mobilize communities so as to improve community attitude and participation in environmental issues.
  • Formulate community byelaws and community education so as to enhance environmental conservation and wise use of resources
  • Facilitate operations of local environment committees and the subcounty focal persons for environment and wetlands. This will enhance their functionality

To promote wetland sustainable resource management and utilization

 Strategies

  • Lobby for increased funding from development partners and donors so as to supplement the district effort to fund unfunded priorities
  • Sensitize and mobilize communities so as to improve community attitude and participation in wetland conservation issues.
  • Formulate community byelaws and community education so as to enhance wetland management, conservation and wise use of wetland resources
