The 2014 Population and Housing census reveals that Luwero district has 458,158 persons as shown in Table 1.2 below. The population increased by 33,120 people from 1980 to 1991, 85,927 persons between 1991 and 2002, and 116,841 people between 2002 and 2014 which represented an annual average growth rate of 1.3 percent ,2.5 percent, and 2.5 percent respectively.
